Name: Sobek
Race: Draconian
Age: 137
Gender: Male
Height: 7' 1"
Weight: 241 lbs
Occupation: Warrior.
Rank: Captain.
Appearance: Sobek is well muscled but not a hulking brute, and his scales are a medium orange in color. His "Highlight" is light blue in color. He has a large scar running diagonally from above his snout across his left eye, along with many other scars from his years military service. His wings are fully intact though and his horns are like those of a ram, he wears light but sturdy metal armor, as seen here.
Personality: He is a hardened and extremely respected Soldier, having served for many decades. He is generally a relaxed individual, calm and collected, never raising his voice. He is extremely confident yet somehow not cocky, going with his warriors into battle from the head of the formation instead of the middle or back as he finds such leaders dishonorable and cowardly. He is a family man as well, having three wives and seven children. His second oldest son is one of The Fallen, but no matter what his society taught him, he could not forsake his own child for the ideals of his culture. He lost much respect for this, but also gained some in the process. He managed to get the boy put on his personal Zeppelin, so he can keep an eye on him and make sure he is treated with the respect the son of a Captain deserves.
Strengths: Level headed, extremely capable warrior, excellent commander.
Weaknesses: Charitable, unfavorably opinionated, poor ranged combatant.
Equipment: Light steel armor, steel saber or his Steam Hammer, helmet(fits around the horns), three daggers, flintlock pistol.
Mounts/Guardians/Pets: He rides a small dragon, that roosts on his Zeppelin.
NPCs:
Officers:
First Mate Manidhar: Sobek's right hand aboard the Zeppelin, he makes sure everyone does their job, including the other Officers. He is extremely loyal and would follow Sobek to the end(Common Draconian).
QuarterMaster Nathair: He is the one to carry out Sobek's will, give punishment, divide loot and delegate tasks amongst the crew. He is a fair man, but not one to be crossed(Common Draconian).
Bosun Sheshadri: Tasked with the overseeing of maintenance, inspecting the ship and keeping supply stores onboard. He is generally a bit annoyed as everyone pesters him constantly it seems(Common Draconian).
Sailing Master Panna: She is charged with the navigation of the ship and the keeping of all the instruments necessary to do so. Since maps are often incorrect or hard to come by her job is one of the most difficult. She is loyal but often agitated at Sobek for his need for her to find their way when a new course is set(Common Draconian).
Crew:
Master Carpenter Nyoka(apprentice of Panna and Sheshadri): He is the one to repair and and keep the Zeppelin in shape while being taught by either the Sailing Master or Bosun, in this case both of them(Common Draconian).
Master Gunner Jörmungandr: He is charge with the ship's guns and ammunition. He makes sure the the powder is sifted to keep it dry and prevent it from separating, keeping the cannon balls free of rust, and all weapons are kept in good condition. He is incredibly fond of Cannons(Common Draconian).
Gunners Vasuki and Askook: Each of them oversee four Draconians who man the Cannons, while they both aim the Cannons. She(Vasuki) is charged with the left side of the Zeppelin while he(Askook) is charged with the right(both common Draconians).
Sailmaker Tedi: He repairs and maintains the sails, canvas and hammocks. He is mute and a beloved member of the crew(Common Draconian).
Surgeon Chu'Mana: She is tasked with the health of the crew, from colds and flues to(of course) surgery on those wounded in battle. She is a kind soul and will help anyone she can with her medical skills(Common Draconian).
Cook Lind: Injured in battle, he was allowed to continue his military service as the Zeppelins cook. He is short, fat, and is usually grumpy and his left leg limps. His only good eye is his left one(he keeps the right one squinted shut at all times(Common Draconian).
Striker Nagarjun: A feared and respected member of the crew, he hunts and fishes for the crews meals. He is mysterious and covered in tribal scarring which can be seen on his full exposed chest, back and wings(Reaver Draconian).
Musicians Kami, Oola and Bashu: Kami is a very skilled and lead musician and plays the guitar and violin, Oola plays Piano and Bashu plays the drums. They combine their skills to entertain the crew who can be rather bored at times, and to inspire them while in the heat of battle.
Powder Monkeys Bek and So: Sobek's two oldest sons serve the Gunners, Bek(first born son) serves Vasuki while So(the second born Fallen son) serves Askook. They get the Artillery crews what they need in battle.
Plus Fifteen able soldiers who are also a part of the crew.
Biography: He was the first hatched of several siblings, and was raised in a peaceful household of the Skyworld. He grew up to be a continuation of his families tradition to serve in the Draconian military, and served many years as grunt, fighting many bloody battles in the name of his people. He was of such skill that he quickly rose through the ranks(quickly being seventy years for him) until he reached the rank of Captain with a bloodsoaked career a mile long.
He at this point gained influence in the Military, and caught the eye of many other interested parties. He married his three wives after achieving his rank, all three of noble birth. His first wife Sarpa gave him four children, his eldest son(who was also the first born) and their second oldest son who is one of The Fallen, along with a third son and a daughter. His second wife Ravana gave him a set of twins, a son and a daughter. His third wife Astika has given him one child, a son who is still a hatchling. He now commands his own Zeppelin with a full crew and armaments, and his oldest and second oldest sons both serve under him.
RolePlay Sample:
Sobek had spent the the early part of his day planning where to next raid in the name of the Empire along with Manidhar, Panna and Sheshadri. They had found a coastline to attack, but were deciding on whether to attack coastal settlements or lone ships. Sobek had chosen a village and so it was to be, now they were to plot their attack. They poured over their supply manifest and all information they had on the town, it was a wealthy town with a militia but no real military force and thus a prime target. Sobek grinned as he plunged his dagger into the spot on the map where this settlement was, but the grin dissipated when the Zeppelin shook and shouts sounded from on-deck.
He stormed out of his cabin, his hand fell to his hip and drew his saber, his face contorted with anger as a hiss escaped from between his many sharp teeth. As he emerged onto the deck he wasn't overly surprised by what he saw. Pirates....
Long had Pirates been a problem within Draconian society, the lowest of the low getting ahold of a vessel and using it for their own gain instead of that of the empire. Disgusting.
Sobek was immediately charged by one of them, a less experienced brigand from their poor skill level. He ducked their sword, cut the tendon in the back of their knee, and sliced the side of their neck. The next was easier, as he grabbed their weapon bearing hand, before he impaled them through the gut.
The Pirates were dwindling and their Captain was calling them back, Sobek would not let these treasonous cowards escape so easily....
He drew his flintlock pistol and pulled back the hammer, carefully sighting his target. With a slow exhale of breath, he gently squeezed the trigger. With a sharp crack and a puff of smoke the steel ball flew through the air, and with a fleshy sploosh it found its mark. The Pirate Captain fell back onto the deck in an increasingly large pool of his own blood and brains. Sobek watched as his crew annihilated the remaining Pirates. He was glad to be rid of the scum....
