City of Cape Runesla (Lemme know if you want me to the change the city name, but its a Cape type of landmass so thought it would work, and yey runes?)
Early morning
Vesal - Aard Gnoll
Aboard the Human vessel Long Grasp (since trade ship)
Awoken to his big day.
Another fitful night of sleep on the wooden floor of the cage was halted with banging on the bars by the Hooman sailors, making Ves start awake and do his best to sit up quickly before they started to beat on him. But as his eyes started to adjust to the light he noticed that the Hoomans were just standing there with their teeth baring grins and were hissing at each other in their weird language. But the food was slid into his cell and they laughed before leaving, the small Gnoll quickly eating down some of it and tapping on the bars for Dinner and Leftovers to wriggle through the bars to get some of the food too. But he looked up from lightly petting them when he felt the boat bump against something and the distant sound of a lot of noise.
The rats quickly hid behind Vesal as the Hoomans returned to the hold carrying a large tarp, and Ves could only make a little squeak of surprise as it was thrown over his cage and then cage then lifted up and moved. The Aard lying flat and the two rats in his arms as the cage was tilted this way and that as it was moved through the ship...but that was fresh air, full lungfuls of it not just wisps of it leaking down from above decks. Oh Gods he wasn't about to be drowned was he!? The Gnoll trying to reach through the bars to peak under the covering whilst also holding onto the bars to keep from sliding too much.
But what he could see in flashes of bright light wasn't a wooden hulled ship anymore, it was stone. Well cut stone at that. But shortly after he had got up the courage to peak the cage was rather gently set down at the Hoomans could be heard moving away. But there were a lot of voices all around him. The Aard and the rats clinging to each other from all the noise. But after none of the voices sounded like they were coming closer Vesal took anther peak and was able to see that they were at some kind of Port...So this was it, he was across the sea in the land of the Hoomans.
Letting the tarp fall back down to the ground Vesal sat against the bars of his cage and cryed, for all of his family and Den that were now gone forever.
Early afternoon.
Having been stewing in sorrow the entire morning Ves barked in surprise when the cage was lifted up again and he was being taken somewhere else. The smell of the sea slowly being replaced by the smell of more Hoomans and cooking food as well as...animals of some kind. But the Gnoll just stayed seated against his cell in the darkness of his cell with the rats being idly petted as he was transported somewhere. Ves going back to just being sad and running on automatic pet mode as he was finally set down again. A loud and obnoxious Hooman voice being heard now as everyone else seemed to quiet down, the voice slowly approaching the cage. But it was all just gibberish to the Gnoll.
----
"...The wait is finally over citizens of Rune! After all these months of waiting for word from our brave explorers they have finally returned and brought back with them not only artifacts from this new land but one of the beasts that live there for your enjoyment!" Moving over to the covered cage the ring master of the small improtu set up of Orcish weapons, Gnoll totems, gems and valuables stolen from the indigenous people, skulls of the animals, and the cage itself gripped the tarp and threw it aside with a flourish! The beast looked up from where it had been sitting and barked in surprise at the sudden light flooding into its world, and once it had adjusted for a few moments lowered its paws to see the large crowd gathered around it, ooohing and ahhing at the fur covered thing and the other artifacts as the beast yelped and cowered in a corner of the cell, electing much laughter from the gathered crowed as the main man smiled and opened his arms.
"Feel free to move around the exhibit and observe, but don't get to close to the beast, those claws are probably infested with all types of horrible diseases!" With that he stepped off the small platform the cage was on and down to the grounds of the citys main square where the exhibit had been set up - free for anyone to come and see what the Humans had found on this strange new continent.
