Hey guys so I've just been struck with an inspiration to address and to talk about a lack of a fleshed out collection of interesting figures in the mythos. I know their mostly been development going into the races mostly lately, but I for some reason find my concern attracted to the gaping detail in the lore. Maybe just to fill it in a little bit and just to get things down that we perhaps already have discussed and written down. Plus on the up side we can probably come up with some new stuff as we go along and get some productive discussion going as well once other current developments wind down.
So I suppose to get onto a couple ideas I just had to kick things off.
Alright, first thing that comes to my mind is that we basically have our main divinities of the three primary deities; Order, Balance, and Chaos. I'm not really focused on Catalyst at this moment. While he is undeniably our resident herald of doom and destruction, we already have enough on him for the moment and there is time enough to speak of that later with main plot development. So far really don't know much about the major forces of our universe or their particular roles and duties as curators of the universe/space/world(s)/what have you...
Right now what do we know about the three main gods? Universal disaster happened that obliterated everything in existence leaving only a few trace artifacts that explode into mach-big bang. All matter of things comes forth out of the primordial void of nothing and from out of the chaos form the three major beings that would come to form a trifecta in what we can assume is cooperative effort to bring life flourishing back to the universe with their powers. They fashioned all matter of things within the realm of this new creation forming worlds, stars, nebulae, and so on and the rest is history.
But that's just about it. From where each of these entities sit at the head the divine order we can make a general estimation of what they represent, but not what they do exactly. To me it just about seems that Balance sits in the middle mediating affairs between the other gods and largely just overseeing things so they run smoothly while Chaos and Order largely just do their own things when not in conflict with one another. Not to say the two opposites do this often. In fact I get the feeling that despite it's name Chaos isn't quite as...chaotic as they might be since it is implied that he/they/she/it actually helped reshape the universe. It is equally worthy of note that Order doesn't just launch their own crusade to overthrow all forces in opposition to establish the ultimate order. We could probably attribute this to the work of Balance to keep such things from happening and keep the divines in line. Another thing could be that despite their titles the actual personas of these entities are not perhaps as black and white than their names suggest when in actual fact they are much deeper characters altogether. Maybe it's both.
Point being there is certainly want for explanation particularly on this matter because it's a little harder to define the universe when there is little that defines the forces that shape the universe.
So that's one point in discussion that would be most useful sorting out as soon as we can spare the time making.
Secondly on a broader note of others besides the main three gods. I can see that we are possibly aiming for the starts of a polytheistic Greek/Shinto sort of organization going on, at least that's what I guess, I dunno. I also happened to notice that in the timeline entry where we learn the most about the gods so far besides its race thread entry it says they made 'many' worlds. Now that got me thinking if it takes these three dudes to make a universe then it must take a lot of their attention to keep it all in order with perhaps being able to spare some precious moments of their time to look over the different places that exist for some special attentions. So in this case they may give Ereyon some special attention perhaps because of how vital it is for some reason or another. But what if they needed a little help with those duties.
Yup. Santa's little helpers. Minions. Divine representatives. Ambassadors to teh meat-bags. Be they minor gods, demigods, spirits or what else have you.
(At this point I lost my train of thought and my energy to rant ran out. So instead of trying to sell it to you what if each world is assigned it's own caretakers or guardian to fill the roles the major deities can't spare the attention for? Eryon being no exception gets it's own set of ascended beings above the mere mortals of the world. What they be is up for discussion, but this is exactly what this thread is for to kick off discussion.)
Thoughts? Concerns? Additions? Come on! There will likeley be more ideas I will put up in this thread as they come.
